The symposium will take place across multiple venues located in the historic centre "Terra Murata", all within close proximity to each other: the fascinating Palazzo D'Avalos, Cappella della Purità and Chiesa di Santa Margherita with its magnificent sea view.
The Opening Session, Session A and all the Focus Sessions will take place at the Chiesa di Santa Margherita. The construction of the Monastery of Santa Margherita dates back to the second half of the XVI century. The restoration of the church hall was completed in September 2012, while the restoration of the underlying convent is yet to be finished. The location of the architectural complex, situated at the entrance of the historic village of Terra Murata, is in an area of extraordinary scenic beauty, with the terrace overlooking the Corricella village. Currently, the church, now deconsecrated, hosts exhibitions and cultural events.
Palazzo d'Avalos is one of the most important historical sites on the island and represents a significant example of Baroque architecture. Located in the upper part of the island, the palace was built in the XVI century. Over the centuries, the structure was used as a royal residence and hosted important social and political events. During the XX century, Palazzo d'Avalos served different purposes, in 1930 was turned into a prison until the 1980s. Today, Palazzo d'Avalos is one of the main historical and cultural sites of Procida. In addition to being a tourist attraction, the palace hosts cultural events, exhibitions and artistic performances, thus promoting local culture. Its panoramic location offers a spectacular view of the sea and the island of Ischia. At SUM 2025, Palazzo d'Avalos will be used to host Sessions B and C, poster exhibition, registration and speakers desk.
Cappella della Purità is located inside Palazzo de Iorio, a historic building designated as a cultural center, civic museum, maritime art museum, library, exhibition gallery and small conference center. Currently, part of the building hosts the Orientale University of Naples, which holds summer internships in marketing and tourism. During the Symposium, Cappella della Purità will serve as the fourth conference room and will host Session D and Workshops.
